HYROX Simulation Day at REVIVAL: Sunday 11 October
Whether you’re preparing for your first HYROX, trying to improve your race time or simply want to see where your fitness is at, our HYROX Simulation Day gives you the perfect opportunity to test yourself in a supportive environment at REVIVAL.
On Sunday 11 October, we’re running a half-distance HYROX-style simulation from 9:30am. You’ll complete half the standard running distance and scaled-down station volumes, giving you a genuine race-style challenge without the full fatigue of a complete event.

What is a HYROX simulation?
A simulation brings the structure of a HYROX race into the gym: running broken up by functional fitness stations. The constant switch between running and strength-endurance work is what makes the format so effective — and so challenging.
Our version uses 500m runs at the start and between stations, with half-distance movements throughout. It is long enough to expose where you are strong, where you lose time and what you need to work on, while still being accessible to people who are newer to HYROX training.
The workout
You’ll begin with a 500m run, then complete another 500m run between each of the following stations:

1. 500m SkiErg
2. 40 alternating box step-ups — 2 × 15kg / 10kg
3. 50 single-arm dumbbell power cleans — 25kg / 17.5kg
4. 40 burpees
5. 500m row
6. 100m farmers carry — 2 × 32kg / 24kg
7. 50 alternating sandbag reverse lunges — 30kg / 20kg
8. 50 wall balls — 9kg / 6kg
Do I need HYROX experience?
Not at all. This is open to everyone. If you already train for HYROX, you can use the session as a proper fitness benchmark and practise pacing your runs and stations. If you’re new to the format, it is a brilliant way to experience it without committing to the full race distances.
All weights are easily adaptable. The aim is to give everybody an appropriate challenge, not to force everyone through the same loads. Our coaches will help you choose sensible options and make sure you understand each movement before you start.
What will you learn?
A simulation is useful because it gives you information that individual workouts cannot. You’ll see whether you start too quickly, which stations disrupt your running most, how well you manage transitions and whether muscular endurance or cardiovascular fitness is currently your biggest limiter.
Most importantly, you’ll leave with a clear benchmark. Train consistently, repeat the format in the future and you’ll have something real to compare against.
